Where it all began…
It’s all my mum and dads fault! It all started in September 1990 when my mum and dad said to me and my sister “this year we’re not going to the Ocean Blue Resort on the Gold Coast, Australia for holidays, we’re all going to… BALI!”
I had heard of Bali before but where it was or what it was like I was completely clueless… so my dad bought the “everything you need to know about Bali” video home from the travel agent and the four of us sat around the TV and watched it. Now Bali in the 90s was quite primitive and I think my sister and I thought oh where are they taking us?
Later that year I boarded my first flight to Denpasar, Bali. This place was so different from the East Coast of Australia. The food was different, the smells were different, the people and culture were different… absolutely everything was different. I was on an amazing adventure and I LOVED IT!
I loved it so much that every time I talk about Travel and Food Adventures I get giddy with excitement.
It wouldn’t be a surprise that my first job was in travel as a travel consultant which let me help others experience the fun and excitement of travel. I currently work full-time out of the travel industry and enjoy traveling the world with my husband, eating out and trying new adventures just because I love it!
Thanks, mum and dad for taking me to Bali because as you know I have been traveling the world ever since.
