Walking into the lobby that houses hundreds of living plants you instantly feel that The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon is a hotel designed for the trendy and those who ooze sophistication and coolness, from Instagrammers taking photos amongst the “Jungle in the Sky” to groups of friends enjoying afternoon tea, cocktails, and incredible views of Tokyo Tower from the Lobby Bar. You’ll never feel out of place, The Tokyo EDITION comes with that certain kind of vibe, that somehow makes everyone feel welcome.
- INCREDIBLE TOKYO TOWER VIEWS
Tokyo Tower can be seen from just about every angle of the hotel, whether you are relaxing in your Tower View Guest room, enjoying a cocktail at the Lobby Bar, Jade Terrace, or eating at The Blue Room restaurant you’ll do so with prime views of Tokyo Tower. - THE JADE ROOM GARDEN TERRACE
With incredible views of the city and Tokyo Tower from 140 meters high the Jade Room Garden Terrae is the place to unwind. We loved visiting the Garden Terrace at night, it was the perfect vantage point for viewing the twinkling lights of Tokyo Tower and the cityscape. - DINNER at THE BLUE ROOM
The Blue Room is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner but the view of glimmering city lights accompanied by what may have been one of the best meals we ate in Japan made our experience at The Blue Room memorable.
We chose to stay at The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon for two nights. As this was our final stop before flying home we wanted to stay in a property that wowed us and showcased Tokyo in a different light from where we began our journey in Shibuya.
Checking into our King, Tokyo Tower View room and being greeted by the iconic red and white lights from Tokyo Tower was a definite highlight so much so that we left our blinds wide open all day and night.
With 206 rooms and suites (fifteen of which have outdoor terraces) located over floors 31-38 of the Tokyo World Gate skyscraper, each accommodation option has views overlooking Tokyo City or Tokyo Tower.
Finished with classic modern interiors, guest rooms have access to the gym, pool, spa, bicycles to explore the city, and a good selection of restaurants and bars. The hotel’s signature fragrance can be smelt throughout the lobby and guest rooms and possibly at times a little overpowering.
We recommend pre-booking dinner in the Blue Room and requesting a table overlooking Tokyo Tower, the view at night accompanied by the crunchiest and most delicious tempura is supreme!
The hotel is located in the business end of town, you will find office workers during the day and a low-key vibe at night.
There are several train stations close by making it easy to visit some of Japan’s famous tourist attractions, however, we used the taxi network often as it was quick, easy, and fairly reasonably priced.
The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon offers some of the best vantage points in Japan for soaking in incredible views of Tokyo City and Tokyo Tower.
With its high-end price tag, differing service levels, and trendy vibe, we understand why the property receives mixed reviews. The two incredible highlights of our stay (dinner at The Blue Room and the most spectacular views of Tokyo Tower from our room) are why we would love to experience The Tokyo EDITIONS’ newly opened sister hotel the Tokyo Ginza EDITION.
