Bali is home to some of the best unbelievably amazing restaurants which offer anything from Insta-worthy ice creams to bao’s, traditional Balinese satays and Japanese food that looks more like works of art than deserts. I guarantee whatever kind of food you are craving you will find it in Bal’is Best Restaurants and you won’t be disappointed with the quality or the flavour. Here are some of my favourite restaurants that are guaranteed to get your taste buds excited.
Kynd Community
Kynd not only has the most Instagram-worthy ice creams, cocktails and food but also prides itself on being Kynd to the planet by serving up a menu that is plant-based. This restaurant is a must, the menu has something for everyone like juices, shakes, smoothie bowls, burgers, tacos, salads, spaghetti and desserts that all look too good to eat! Make sure you pimp your ice cream cone by adding a Bali sign or mermaid tail… then post it on Instagram – we did check it out! Insta Ice Cream

Bo & Bun
Simply Vietnamese heaven in downtown Seminyak …. what’s not to love! Bo & Bun is full of delicious Asian dishes with Vietnamese being its speciality. Ironically the “French-inspired” décor simply adds atmosphere to a menu that offers so many good dishes that it’s very hard to choose what to order. My advice is to study the Bo & Bun menu before you get there so you are well prepared and don’t miss out on anything. Whatever you do be sure to try the Pork Belly Bao and Sate Chicken skewers they were ridiculously good!

Izakaya by OKU
If Japanese and sake are what you love then you are going to love Izakaya By Oku. This is Apurva Kempinski’s signature restaurant and the combination of the open kitchen, contemporary decor, and faultless service means you will experience food that you will be taking pictures of and telling everyone about even after your holiday is over.
You can order à la carte or partake in the okukase, a five or seven-course degustation menu which can be paired with sake. We ordered à la carte and the edamame, gyoza, tomorokoshi, dragon sushi were all delicious but make sure you save room for dessert – I highly recommend the Apple Candy – YUM!
Location:The Apurva Kempinski, Nusa Dua
Opening Hours: 6 pm to 10:30 pm

Barbacoa
If you are looking for a place to rest your legs after shopping all day and need a nice cold drink to recover (like we did) or if you are looking for something more substantial and enjoy smokey bbq style food then Barbacoa has you covered. As you walk in the door you are greeted with a succulent pig cooking over open flames, colourful tiles, and an open terrace that overlooks the rice paddies.

Reef Beach Club
Although I have mentioned Reef Beach Club already on the blog I have to mention it again as it would have to be one of my absolute favourite places to eat lunch or dinner. The sate sicks and mixed grill were consistently delicious and the bartenders also made the perfect G & T with a sliver of cucumber and lime – yum! The inside of this restaurant is spectacular and with a view over the Indian Ocean, you may just never want to leave!

Breeze at Samaya
Watching the sunset over the ocean at the Samaya was the perfect way to end our day after shopping in Seminyak. The Samaya overlooks Petitenget beach which is the prime location to sit back on one of the lounges at the open bar and enjoy a cocktail or dinner at Breeze restaurant. Breeze’s menu offers a combination of both traditional Balinese and Western food, with my favourite Mie Goreng. Be sure to book if you want a front-row table for dinner though as table numbers are limited.
