With so many beautiful towns to see you really are spoilt for choice when looking for great places to eat but today is all about the best Cafes and Restaurants in the Southern Highlands towns of Bowral, Moss Vale and Berrima.
So If you’re looking to get out in the fresh country air, eat some fine food and drink wine at impressive cellar doors then a day trip or mini-break to the Southern Highlands is exactly what you need, and the good news is that it’s only 1 1/2 hours from Sydney and 2 hours from Canberra.
Bendooley Estate
We love it here, Bendooley Estate is located in Berrima and is our go-to whenever we are in the Southern Highlands. Not only can you enjoy coffee and cake at the Berkelouw Book Barn while searching for rare and modern-day books but you can also partake in a wine tasting at their very own cellar door or enjoy lunch or dinner at the Bendooley Restaurant – my advice is to enjoy all three! The combination of fine dining, casual eats, coffee, cake, wine, and a whole heap of history is what makes Bendooley such a fabulous place to visit.
Hint

Plantation Café – Green Lane
Located in Bowral Green Lane is an unexpected but charismatic combination of shops and eateries which means you can you shop for plants, rustic garden accessories, new wares, or even old wares at the famous Dirty Janes while you contemplate if you should order another one of those delicious Pulled Chicken Rolls – the answer to that is yes order another one!
We stopped for brunch at the Plantation Café, mainly to sample the Double Roasters coffee and I have to say we were so glad we did, the food and coffee were delicious along with beautifully decorated interiors.
Located right next door to the Plantation Café is Harry’s on Green Lane. Harry’s serves up lunch daily and dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. There are two lunch sittings (noon & 2 pm) and 2 dinner sittings (6 pm & 8 pm).
