Every now and again you come across a property that is so elegant you wish that you could stay forever. This is exactly how we felt when we checked-in for our luxury country getaway at The Barn at Nguurruu.
Located on a working cattle farm in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Michele, Murray and their girls transformed the property stables into a luxury 2 bedroom guesthouse.
Every little inch of this property has been created with luxury and quality in mind. From the fixtures and rose gold tap fittings, Myrtle & Moss soaps to luxurious Cultiver and Hale Mercantile Co. linen, impeccable styling and stunning architecture.
They say that it’s the little extras that make a stay special and The Barn at Nguurruu has so many. We loved the fresh sourdough from Tin Shed Bread and the organic farm fresh eggs for breakfast along with marshmallows for toasting over the outdoor fire pit.
We also loved that Michelle and Murray are so welcoming, they are passionate and respectful of their land and encourage you to explore their 220-acre property. They are close enough yet far enough away to assist with any questions you have about what they do or places to eat and visit around the area.
The guesthouse is fully self-contained and can accommodate 4 people comfortably. It also comes with an indoor woodfire, outdoor fire pit, games, music, magazines, the world’s most comfy bed, a heated inground pool, wildlife and what you really visit the country for… fresh air and tranquility.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm & Check-out is at 10:00 am
A “Pantry List” & “Cellar List” are available where you can purchase food packs or locally sourced wines to cook and enjoy in the fully equipped kitchen
Grazing Restaurant is housed in the historic ‘Royal Hotel’ which dates back to 1830, it’s a ten-minute drive from The Barn at Nguurruu and is the perfect place to enjoy lunch or dinner
Murrumbateman is home to some of Australia’s best cool-climate wineries and is less than 30 minutes away. We had dinner at Olleyville at Shaw Vinyard Estate and it was delicious
