Ready for a luxurious adventure onboard a ship that redefines and pushes the boundaries of layout and design? Look no further than Silversea’s Silver Nova!
This stunning ship feels like a floating five-star hotel with a twist of Italian deliciousness, unmatched spaciousness, and an array of restaurants that will have you seriously questioning why you would ever want to cook again – and did I mention there is also a butler for every stateroom!
So, why is Silver Nova the ultimate luxury cruise experience that you can’t afford to miss? Get ready, because we’re about to give you the exclusive inside on everything that makes this ship one-of-a-kind, including one crucial detail regarding where you can find the tastiest Lasagna and Pork Cotoletta at sea.

SPACE, THERE IS SO MUCH SPACE
We were amazed by how spacious and open Silver Nova felt – there were moments when it felt like we were the only people on board, especially on port days. The thoughtfully designed decks and pool areas ensured that no matter where we were or what we were doing — lounging by the pool, relaxing in the spa, or sipping a coffee at the Arts Cafe — there was always a comfortable spot waiting for us. It made every moment on board feel effortless and enjoyable, with plenty of room for everyone to unwind.
LA TERRAZZA, SERVING UP THE BEST LASAGNE AT SEA
Italian cuisine is one of our all-time favourites, so you can imagine how excited we were to discover that this luxury ship had La Terrazza, an authentic Italian restaurant. Whether you’re enjoying à la carte dinner or indulging in a buffet breakfast or lunch, La Terrazza delivers a truly authentic experience. From the food to the service and the ambiance, it felt like we had stepped into a charming Italian eatery.
Our waiter, Ray, really made the experience unforgettable. once he learned we loved affogatos, he went above and beyond to surprise us with off-menu versions of the dessert and trust us, they were heavenly, especially with Ray’s special addition of nuts and flavouring! But the real showstopper was the lasagna, fresh, and flavorful, it quickly became one of our favorite dishes on board. If you love Italian food, La Terrazza is a must-try!
GAME-CHANGING POOL DECK
Talk about living the dream! We never imagined that we’d have the entire pool and spa all to ourselves, but that’s exactly what happened—more than once—on board the Silver Nova. This experience amazed us, especially since we have always avoided cruise ship pools as they are jam-packed with people.
With its sleek and innovative design, Silver Nova’s off-center pool isn’t just a place to take a quick dip —it’s a place where you could spend all day lounging on the day beds with a cocktail while taking in the ocean views. Silversea has truly redefined the cruise experience, setting a new standard for pool deck design and successfully creating a luxury day club at sea!
Before boarding, we were told that you’ll never look back once you experience Nova Class and after spending 16 days on the Silver Nova, we totally agree, they weren’t wrong.
From the moment we stepped on board, we were greeted with champagne and canapés. The delicious smell throughout the lobby immediately made us think wow this is going to be an incredible cruise. As other guests sat in the foyer enjoying their champagne, we dropped off our hand luggage in our cabin and made our way to The Marquee on Deck 10 where we enjoyed a relaxing lunch with views of over Sydney.
After lunch one of our first stops was The Arts Café where we enjoyed coffee, and cronuts (a must try!). The café quickly became one of our favorite spots to unwind, for breakfast, a pre-show champagne or afternoon tea. We even created our own little high tea at sea with sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream. The café did close at 8 pm and couldn’t help but wish it stayed open a little later.
Intimate Luxury at Sea
Known for its “intimate luxury,” Silver Nova is possibly one of the most spacious ships at sea. Accommodating 728 passengers and 544 crew in a variety of suites ranging from the “Classic” to the luxurious “Otium” suite which comes with its very own outdoor spa. Once onboard almost everything is included with some exceptions being premium Wi-Fi, high-end wines and champagnes, spa treatments, and specialty dining experiences like La Dame, Kaiseki at night and the Chef’s Table. But with the quality of the main restaurants, you’ll likely never feel the need to spend more unless you want to of course!
Accommodations That Feel Like Home
Located on Deck 9 (Suite 9048) our suite was perfectly positioned near the pool deck and centrally located to everything on the ship. We loved the size of the suite and luxury features including luxury linens, oversized bathrooms, a fully stocked bar with our favorite drinks, plush robes and slippers and personal butler. For future cruises, we’d book this room again and even consider booking Deck 8, just a floor below for an even quieter experience.
Dining: A Culinary Journey
With so many dining options, we were spoiled for choice. Here are a few of our favorites:
- Kaiseki: The Japanese eatery served up delicious dishes like Tonkatsu Ramen and Steamed Bao’s with brisket, teriyaki, and lime juice for lunch. We couldn’t resist stopping by nearly every other day – trust us one bao will never be enough!
- The Marquee: This chic, outdoor dining area offers a stunning view of the sea. Its two restaurants, Spaccanapoli and The Grill, serve everything from fresh pizzas and fried calamari to juicy steaks and grilled prawns at night. It’s perfect for a laid-back meal at lunch, a healthy breakfast, or a romantic dinner for two at night.
- Atlantide: This main dining room offers an ever-changing menu filled with so many delicious favorites. Whether we were craving lobster, Tagliatelle Bolognese, or a comforting Beef Stroganoff, Atlantide never disappointed. And if you have a special food craving like we did, the staff, including Mega (Head of S.A.L.T Kitchen), are more than happy to arrange it for you. One lunchtime, they made us an amazing Indian feast with Tandoori, Butter Chicken, and Korma curry and on another day a traditional Balinese Mie Goreng.
- S.A.L.T Kitchen: A must-try for anyone interested in regional cuisine. Located next to Atlantide, S.A.L.T offers a unique dining experience where the menu reflects the region you’re sailing through. For us, the Emu Ravioli was a highlight. The setting is more intimate, the service impeccable, and the flavours unforgettable.
- La Terrazza: Our absolute favorite dining experience was at La Terrazza, an Italian-inspired restaurant on Deck 4. From the freshest antipasti to mouthwatering dishes like Pappardelle al Ragu, Cotoletta alla Milanese, and the classic Lasagna Bolognese, every meal felt authentic and when paired with a glass of red wine it was absolutely delicious. Don’t miss the Tiramisu or Ray’s special Affogato for dessert, it’s the perfect way to end your evening.

Relax and Unwind
Outside of the restaurants, we found plenty of quiet spaces to relax and unwind. The Arts Café became a go-to spot for coffee and pastries during the day, with a tempting selection of fruit plates, sandwiches, cakes, and our personal favorite—the cronut. For tea lovers, the café also offers a wide range of TWG teas.
After dinner, we loved stopping by the S.A.L.T Bar on Deck 10 for Nova’s tasty signature cocktail – Celestyal Nova. It was the perfect way to end the day, especially with the Observation Lounge right next door offering some of the best views on board.
Let’s be honest Silversea’s Silver Nova is more than just a cruise ship—it’s a luxury cruise ship offering exceptional service and unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re enjoying world-class cuisine, exploring exclusive destinations, or relaxing in your private suite, every moment aboard the Silver Nova feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Good to Know | Silversea’s Silver Nova
♡ After boarding, stop by ‘Guest Relations’ and request to be added to the Bridge Tour and request a timetable for the S.A.L.T Lab cooking classes so you can book them in advance.
♡ If you didn’t have the chance to pre-book a preferred restaurant before boarding, simply visit the restaurant representative near Guest Relations on embarkation day. They can add you to the waitlist or help with your request. Alternatively, you can reach out to the restaurant manager or your butler for further assistance.
♡ Silver Note, the 1920s Jazz-inspired restaurant always seems to book out fast, even before you board. If you aren’t able to pre-book ask the restaurant manager on embarkation day to add you to the waitlist. We did this and were able to get a booking mid-cruise.
♡ Don’t forget to ask your butler about the ‘Otium in-suite experiences.’ It includes wellness features for better sleep, comfort food like macaroons and popcorn, as well as relaxation additions for your balcony, shower and bath.
♡ The dress code on Silversea is generally “Elegant Casual,” which allows for plenty of flexibility. Most guests wore whatever they felt comfortable in, and it was never an issue. I even wore jeans to dinner on a few nights and never felt out of place.
♡ Your butler can restock your in-room fridge with any drinks you like and will also arrange for a bottle of your favorite spirits to be placed in your room—just ask!
♡ You will find the daily information and activities on your TV along with daily restaurant menus and reservations, a paper copy of the “Chronicles” will also be delivered to your suite each evening.
♡ Once onboard enable your free internet access and then sign into “mycruise.com” This will allow you to access the daily Chronicles, your onboard account, restaurant menus, and control your in-suite temperature and lights. You will find information on how to set this up with your suite card.
♡ Vero still or sparkling water is served on the ship and each passenger is supplied with a reusable water bottle for use off or onboard. You can, however, request Pellegrino water or canned soda water if preferred.
♡ The “Essential” fare is the most affordable fare for Silversea cruises. It includes all “onboard inclusive amenities” but does not include shore excursions, airfares, or transfers. This fare generally becomes available 5 months before a cruise departure date and may only apply to selected cruises. We booked the essential fare and arranged our own airfares and shore excursions.
♡ Restaurant menus change daily or every 3-4 days, so if you fall in love with a dish, don’t worry—you’ll likely have another chance to try it again during your trip.
♡ When booking your cruise, you might come across the term “Guaranteed” suite rooms, this generally gives you a cheaper fare but you may not be allocated a stateroom number or location until closer to your cruise date. We booked this fare type but worked with Silversea to request a room on a high floor with no bathtub or interconnecting door. The good news was they were happy to upgrade our suite and accommodate our requests, which they will do where possible.
♡ On disembarkation day we always choose to carry our luggage off, this way we don’t have to leave our suitcase out the night before or worry about being allocated a disembarkation time slot.

This is Celestyal Nova, Silver Nova’s signature cocktail.
You will find this deliciousness at the S.A.L.T Bar on deck 10, which we think is the best place to enjoy an after dinner drink or two!🍸#ThisIsSilversea pic.twitter.com/4Xqzq8xCxj
