A Message to all Travel Lovers…
I know I’m stating the obvious but it’s time to get out and explore your own backyard. It’s time to go and visit those towns and regions that are so close to home that you practically consider them as your long lost neighbour.
As you know over the last few months the whole world has been going through some extremely tough times and before the coronavirus hit my own country, Australia had been dealing with catastrophic fires and flooding.
As a result of the fires, townships were wiped out, lives and wildlife were lost and now with coronavirus along with every country around the world we are all having to live and adjust to a new way of life.
As a proud Australian, it’s not surprising to see how quickly Australian’s banded together to look after and support those in need. During the fires, we saw communities join forces to raise funds for people they didn’t even know from holding baking stalls, RSL clubs opening their doors 24hrs a day to accommodate and feed the community (including their pets) to large scale concerts and famous celebrities and comedians raising and donating ginormous amounts of money.
It’s so very clear to me that I live in a very special country with very special people who have a love for their land, neighbours, and wildlife. To ensure these communities are able to re-grow and recover we need to support them by holidaying here this year.
No matter what country you live in when it’s safe to travel don’t stay at home or delay your holiday just because you can’t travel overseas. Get out and explore your own town, state, or country, I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what you find!
In support of my fellow Australian’s here is a list of some top Aussie destinations in my home state that I am going to stop by over the next few months and say g’day. So be sure to check back from time to time to read all about them. I choose to support my locals and explore my own backyard this year, I hope you will too!
See You Soon…
